If you are a Chicago sports fan, this must be your year – or at least your weekend. At the time of this writing, the Chicago Blackhawks and the Chicago Bulls are starting their post season playoffs. Chicago Cubs fans recently enjoyed the opening game at the newly renovated ballpark in Wrigleyville and Chicago White Sox players began their home opener with a brand new clubhouse.
Okay, so the Sox have won only three of their eight games. But how about them Blackhawks! They kept their fans on the edge of their seats until well after 11:00 p.m. with their game-winning double-overtime playoff opener in Nashville.
Hope you got some rest Chicagoland because this weekend promises to be a sports enthusiast’s dream. Friday night is game two in the Hawks v. Predators series. On Saturday ‘da Bulls take on the Milwaukee Bucks for their post-season NBA opener, followed on Sunday by the first home-ice match up in the Chicago-Nashville NHL series. Sports parties are surely in your plans!
So pull out the sports-themed
party supplies, stock up on the chip and dip bowls, and make sure to include a large supply of
beverage napkins. That’s right, regardless of what the rest of the post season is like, this weekend we will be sitting in front of our high-def large screen tv’s and celebrating local sports teams.
